A framework for in-silico experiments
Our value added proposal:
Accelerate the screening of molecules to
reduce the R&D cost of molecule evaluation.
The simulators of CARDIOLAB have been conceived
to provide support to the understanding of isolated and combined effects of
anti-arrhythmic agents, which can be complex and potentially arrhythmogenic.
At a more detailed level, the action of a molecule on the
cardiac cells can be simulated by computing the effects of a molecule on the shape and the
duration of the action potential, as well as the excitability thresholds of each cell. At
these two levels of complexity, the effect of the molecule on the global behavior of the
virtual heart can be observed.
